Integrity in Office

Thank you for your support!

The campaign signs are down and everyone has had some time to reflect on their respective campaigns.  Though the outcome is not what I had hoped for, I did conclude my campaign with a lot more than I had bargained for -- I made some wonderful new friends that have now become a permanent fixture in my life.  I got to meet some members of my community that I hadn't had the pleasure of meeting before and reaquainted with others.

I want to thank all of you who offered to host a lawn sign, those who spread the word about my campaign and those who took the time to contact me and ask me questions.  Thank you for opening your doors to me!

I'd especially like to thank all of the Stafford County Professionals who took the time to educate me on the issues facing our Fire and Rescue Department (both career and volunteer), our Sheriff's Department, our Schools and our Parks and Rec challenges, as well as the other important challenges that we will continue to face.

It is my hope that our community will continue to support the folks that make our County safe and smart - please get involved!

Lasty, congratulations to Paul Milde for his re-election and to Stephanie Johnson for her well-deserved victory in the School Board race.

Thank you all again and I'll be seeing you soon.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season,

Irene, Richard, Shane and Sean Egan

Setting the Record Straight:

Keeping my integrity in tact is very important to me and I wanted to take a moment to clarify something that has been misrepresented by one of my former opponents.  Mr. Paul Ortiz has posted a complaint on his website that he and his campaign volunteers crafted and filed with the County Registrar, and then ultimately with the Electoral Board and State Board of Elections, against me for alleged campaign finance violations.

A yard sale in which a family member had hosted for me was in question, was investigated and I was exonerated of.  I was asked to clarify in greater detail a reimbursement to my personal credit card for a printing charge, in which I complied.  Mr. Ortiz fails to clearly identify that on his website.  The document he posted and labled as "Notice to Correct" is also the letter that exonerates me of breaking any state or local campaign finance laws (see the link below) - nowhere does his website predominately display that.

At the conclusion of the election, I followed up with Mr. Ortiz in an e-mail asking him to remove the unfounded complaint from his website and to date, has ignored my request.
